  203.        The _p_c_p__e_o_e._b_o_o_k_s.* subsystems require the _i_n_s_i_g_h_t__b_a_s_e._s_w

  206.        The _p_c_p__e_o_e._s_w._m_o_n_i_t_o_r utilities require dynamic shared
  207.        libraries from the subsystems: _V_i_e_w_K_i_t__e_o_e._s_w._b_a_s_e and
  208.        _i_n_v_e_n_t_o_r__e_o_e._s_w._i_n_v_e_n_t_o_r (version 2.1 or later).

  210.        If the Performance Metrics Collector Daemon (PMCD) is
  211.        already running on the system to which the new installation
  212.        is going to be applied, then you must terminate ppppmmmmccccdddd before
  213.        starting the installation.  Similarly, any instance of the
  214.        ppppmmmmllllooooggggggggeeeerrrr utility should be terminated.  For example, use the
  215.        following commands as rrrrooooooootttt:

  218.            # killall -INT pmlogger

  220.        This is necessary because the subsystems to be installed
  221.        include new versions of shared libraries (DSOs) that may be
  222.        used by these PCP utilities.

  246.        PCP 2.2 involves evolutionary changes that may affect some
  247.        PCP upgrades and PCP add-on products and/or applications
  248.        developed using the PCP libraries.  Refer to section 3 of
  249.        these release notes and the _p_c_p release notes for a complete
  250.        discussion of these issues.

  252.        2.6  _C_o_n_f_i_g_u_r_a_t_i_o_n__F_i_l_e_s

  254.        It is expected that no configuration changes will be
  255.        required for the _p_c_p__e_o_e product, however if the _p_c_p product
  256.        is also installed, then a variety of site-specific
  257.        customizations may be involved.  Refer to the _p_c_p release
  258.        notes for more details.

  270.        After installation has completed you should run the command
  271.  
  272.            showfiles -c -C -H pcp_eoe
  273.  
  274.        This will list files that have been customized for your site
  275.        and that were changed at the most recent _p_c_p__e_o_e
  276.        installation.  Existing files moved aside will have a ....OOOO
  277.        extension and new files that were not installed will have a
  278.        ....NNNN extension.  You must reconcile any differences between
  279.        the files by hand.
